Mike is a seasoned C-level executive with significant experience in senior financial and operating capacities in domestic and international markets, with both public and private companies.  He now sits on the Board of 4 companies, 2 public and 2 private, and chairs/sits/has sat on multiple audit, compensation and nominating/governance committees. He also provides advisory services to early-stage companies and manages a Board Advisory practice with his partner, helping executives looking to attain Board seats.

A CPA by background, Mike went on to work for five Global enterprises, spending 10 of those years in hands-on assignments in three foreign countries, and is totally fluent in Spanish. He has been CFO of public and private companies, and also had direct P&L responsibility, as President/GM of two large organizations. 13 of those years were spent working for/with Private Equity groups. During this time, he helped transform many underperforming companies, adding significant market value to these enterprises. He has worked very closely with the Audit Committees and Boards of 5 large companies over the past 25 years, and is well versed in M&A, governance and risk management issues that are high on Board priorities.

Mike's last full-time assignment was as EVP & CFO for Korn/Ferry International, Inc. a global talent management company, from 2009 until early 2012.  Prior to that, he was EVP & CFO at St. John Knits International, Inc., a luxury women's apparel company, from 2006 until 2009.  Previously, he served in various capacities at Jafra Cosmetics International, Inc. a multi-level direct selling company, serving as global EVP & CFO from 1999 to 2004, President and COO of US Operations from 1998 to 1999, and as General Manager and COO of Mexico's operations.  Earlier, he was CFO for two public companies (The Wackenhut Corporation and Atlantis Plastics), and prior to that, worked for The Gillette Company for 10 years, with seven of those overseas.  He started his career at Deloitte & Touche.  

Mike is now working on a variety of consultative projects, including seats as a Board member for two public companies and two private businesses. His Board seats include: Calavo Growers Inc., an $900MM NASDAQ company in agricultural products; Ironclad Performance Wear, a $30MM OTC company in durable gloves; a $50MM PE backed direct selling business that distributes young girls' clothing (Matilda Jane Clothing Company); and Humantelligence LLC, an early stage HR software business. He also does audit committee and other support work for a non-profit called KidSave. 

Mike received both bachelors and master's degrees in accounting from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
